They will have a number of speakers offering educational information, support, and motivation throughout this event. The speakers will include celebrities, health care professionals, motivational speakers, college representatives, and bullying and suicide prevention specialists. They are seeking kids who have talents in rap, singers of all genres, poets, dance, public speakers, musicians, and models to audition. Our Mission is to inspire kids to say no to bullying and violence. Young Sensations Talent Search will show children the glorification of being different by giving them the chance to be the stars at this event. This event will also motivate kids to make better choices as they develop into young adults.
There are many parents out there who understand what bullying does to a child, aside from the humiliation...it takes away their sense of identity and causes some to become introverted or turn for the worse and act out in ways that are harmful to others or themselves as we seen in previous news with a suicide in Atlanta because of excessive bullying.
Dan Olweus, creator of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program said "A person is bullied when he or she is exposed, repeatedly and over time, to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons, and he or she has difficulty defending himself or herself."
This definition includes three important components:
1. Bullying is aggressive behavior that involves unwanted, negative actions.
2. Bullying involves a pattern of behavior repeated over time.
3. Bullying involves an imbalance of power or strength.
Check out this audition, get INVOLVED, you always watch your kids in the living room dancing and singing and know their talents need to be shown somewhere.
