First off... BACK UP!
Second... Make sure you backed up.
Third... While your still here, back up one more time. lol
Not as in a step back, but as in iTunes. Save everything you need saved... And if your already jailbroken, and trying to update like me. I'm at 5.0.1 now updating to newest 5.1.1
SO... Assuming you are backed up, and ready to go.
Download the firmware here:
Then download redsn0w here:
Save em both to a folder on your desktop, or somewhere easy accessible.
Open iTunes on your pc, then go your device summary tab.
Now press + hold shift key. Then left click on "restore".
A window will popup, find the firmware you downloaded above, and open it with
Before you hit "Restore"
Be sure you backed up. I dont want to hear your crap cause you didn't backup to iCloud.
This process will take hopefully less than 30 mins.
Now the easy part. Jailbreaking.
Open redsnow and follow the directions.
Very Simple.
The rest is automatic, just wait for your phone to reboot and go to the lock screen. Now you have Cydia.
