As I took a few swigs on my drink and munched on the snacks I snuck into the theater,
The Dark Knight Rises
kept me in suspense as a new array of characters and their stories developed.. To be quite honest, the beginning was a slow build and it took some work paying attention, as one of the new characters (Bane) had a foreign accent perforating through his muzzle.. There were scenes in the beginning that were sonically competing with the actors in loud environments and the movie score. Despite these minor turn-offs, I held-on tight as this was the was the same crew that directed and acted in one of my favorite movies,
The Dark Knight. I kept faith that this story line was going somewhere big... it was a good move on my part!
The revolutionary in me started getting into the story when Bane began to execute his anti-establishment deeds... I was riding with him, although I knew this was a superhero movie and that would eventually lead to his demise. However, the diabolical acts was fun while it lasted, with very creative set-ups. The action and drama that lead to the inevitable climax started to pick-up. It was clear that Batman was no match for this villain as-is.. Eventually it came to a point where Batman had to do some serious soul-searching and find the energy deep down to compete with Bane. That was a great message to all individuals as we have challenges we all have to endure.
CatWoman's character was very intriguing and I can see them making a spin-off based on her character. Her story was one of the elements that kept me interested during the build-up.. Also, I saw hints of a future Robin story in the works.. This was confirmed at the end when a unlikely character in the movie stumbled upon Batman's goodies. I won't spoil the surprise for those that haven't seen it yet. All I will say is pay attention to the little things. Yea, I know they claim that this was the final installment of this Batman franchise but they left plenty of room for other heros and future stories. For those movie psychos (like me) that are into minute details, you will notice the same style as the film
Inception .. The story-telling flow was very comparable. It is not hard to tell that it was made by the same director and same composer for the score. Almost the same supporting cast as well. Which is a good thing. They have good chemistry.

Overall
The Dark Knight Rises was fun. The storyline was clever and set the viewer up for twists and surprises at the end. Trust me, you will never guess these. Go in with a clean slate. If you walk into this flick comparing this to "The Dark Knight", you will be sadly disappointed. Dark Knight it is not... Heath's performance as the Joker in part 2 was a once-in-a-lifetime achievement and we should just leave it there. However, the directing and editing style is familiar... This final installment of this Batman series made for a good crescendo to the three part story with room for spin-offs, sequels and prequels.. I liked this film and I may even see it again for the items missed the 1st time. 9 out of 10 in my book. Enjoy!
